ABOUT

From Madagascar to South Dakota and beyond...

Red Island Video Club is a one-stop shop for creative, cinematic storytelling. It was founded in the Great Plains on South Dakota, but the name itself has more remote origins. The Red Island Video Club was a ragged foot locker that Lutheran missionaries on the island of Madagascar used to store a collection of VHS movies. The foot locker was passed every few months or so, from family to family, oftentimes enduring bone-rocking car rides over hundreds of miles of potholed roads. The VHS movies included in this trove were E.T., Gremlins, Rocky, Goonies, etc. The foot locker brought American pop culture to a remote corner of the world. And it's where Andrew, our company founder, found his love for telling cinematic stories.

This globally-minded origin story has given Red Island Video Club a unique lens onto the world. We specialize in capturing people with honesty, often in naturalistic settings, like a sprawling ranch or a sunset-kissed park. People want to see themselves in an ad. That's what gets them to buy.
